Margaret Stanley, coordinatrice internationale/ERAEI et professeur d’anglais, et Philippe Mocquard, professeur de technologie, ont fait un stage d’observation au Spinoza Lyceum à Amsterdam, Pays-Bas, au mois de février 2023 (14 jours pour Mme Stanley et 10 jours pour M. Mocquard), dans le cadre du consortium académique Erasmus+.
L’objectif de la mobilité était l’utilisation des technologies de l’information et de la communication pour l’enseignement (TICE) : regards croisés des pratiques aux Pays-Bas. Ils ont pu apprendre comment les outils numériques et la technologie sont utilisés aux Pays-Bas, par les professeurs et par les élèves.
En outre, ils ont pu découvrir la méthode Dalton, une pédagogie innovante. La liberté, la responsabilité, la coopération, l’efficacité, l’indépendance et la réflexion sont les valeurs fondamentales de la méthode Dalton.
L’apprentissage au lycée Spinoza est conçu de telle sorte que les élèves apprennent à gérer la liberté, ils apprennent à travailler ensemble et donc à apprendre de manière plus approfondie, ils apprennent à réfléchir sur leur travail et à devenir plus indépendants, ce qui a un effet bénéfique sur leur apprentissage. Les élèves peuvent souvent décider eux-mêmes à quel rythme ils parcourent le matériel de cours et sous quelle forme ils complètent le matériel de cours. Les élèves peuvent faire des choix, par exemple pour les heures Dalton qu’ils suivent. Au moins une heure Dalton est offerte chaque jour. Une heure Dalton est une heure de classe obligatoire et les élèves peuvent décider eux-mêmes sur quelle matière ils travailleront et avec quel enseignant ils s’inscriront. Par exemple, un élève peut bien travailler de manière autonome, collaborer avec des élèves d’autres classes ou demander des explications supplémentaires à un enseignant.
Grâce à ce stage d’observation, Mme Stanley a pu mettre en œuvre un échange scolaire entre le Lyceum Spinoza et le Lycée Livet. 19 élèves hollandais viennent à Nantes au Lycée Livet du 13 au 17 mars 2023 et 19 élèves de la section première européenne partent à Amsterdam du 9 au 15 mai 2023.
Suite à cette mobilité Erasmus+, Mme Stanley et M. Mocquard proposeront un atelier sur « comment mettre en place un projet Erasmus+ » en interne au mois de mai/juin 2023. Cet atelier sera également proposé au PAF l’année prochaine.

Margaret Stanley, International Coordinator/ERAEI and English teacher, and Philippe Mocquard, technology teacher, did a jobshadowing at Spinoza Lyceum in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, in February 2023 (14 days for Ms. Stanley and 10 days for Mr. Mocquard), as part of the Erasmus+ Academic Consortium.
The objective of the mobility was the use of information and communication technologies for teaching: a comparative look at practices in the Netherlands. They were able to learn how digital tools and technology are used in the Netherlands, by teachers and by students.
In addition, they were able to discover the Dalton method, an innovative pedagogy. Freedom, responsibility, cooperation, efficiency, independence and reflection are the core values of the Dalton Method. Learning at Spinoza High School is designed in such a way that students learn to manage freedom, they learn to work together and thus learn more in-depth, they learn to reflect on their work and become more independent, which has a beneficial effect on their learning. Students can often decide for themselves at what pace they go through the course material and in what form they complete the course material. Students can make choices, such as which Dalton hours they take. At least one Dalton hour is offered each day. A Dalton hour is a required class hour and students can decide for themselves what material they will work on and with which teacher they will enroll. For example, a student may well work independently, collaborate with students from other classes, or ask a teacher for further explanation.
As a result of this Erasmus+ jobshadowing, Mrs. Stanley was able to set up a school exchange between the Lyceum Spinoza and the Lycée Livet. 19 Dutch students are coming to Nantes and Lycée Livet from March 13th to 17th 2023 and 19 students from the 11th grade European section are going to Amsterdam from May 9th to 15th, 2023.
Following this Erasmus+ mobility, Mrs. Stanley and Mr. Mocquard will propose a workshop on « how to set up an Erasmus+ project » in May/June 2023. This workshop will also be proposed for the Academy of Nante’s training program (PAF) next year.
