Individual research : Students have to write a 60.000 signs dissertation on a subject linked to their diploma project. Research is supervised by the Humanities lecturers and  a studio lecturer.

HISTORY OF ARTS, SCIENCES AND TECHNIQUES

UE1 / SEM 1-2-3-4 / ECTS = 8

Students will gain knowledge and methods  necessary to develop their design work within the history of design and its main features. The course develops around four main fields : - the history of practices and ideas // - the historiography of art history // - the methods and framework of design // - the fundamental notions linked to visual arts and design group.

ENGLISH

UE2-UE11 / SEM 1-2-3-4 / ECTS = 8

B2/C1 levels of the Commons European Framework of Reference for Languages. 800 TOEIC score.

MARKETING AND LEGAL STRATEGY

Students will gain knowledge in the corporate world and question the economic dimension of projects as well as gain tools to observe, analyze and understand the economic and social data specific to the design sector.

TECHNOLOGY

The course aims at further developing the student’s knowledge of advanced technical practices and new technologies

Skills : - knowing design techniques and their language, resources, systems, modes of implementation, environmental, economic, social consequences // - mastering advances techniques in the fields of research, expression and production // - choosing appropriate technicals tools // - mastering digitals tools for research, development, representation, production and mediation of a project.

ARTISTIC EXPERIMENTATION AND MEDIATION

UE5 / SEM 1-2-3-4 / ECTS = 20

The course aims at further developing the student’s use of graphic, artistic and mediation tools so as to be able to do research through images and communicate their creative process.

Skills : - further developing and adapting one’s artistic and mediation skills // - developing research skills in artistic practices and mediation // - refining and individualizing one’s style // presenting one’s experimentations

STUDIO

UE6-7-8 -9-10/ SEM 1-2-3-4 / ECTS = 52

The course consist in a cultural, methodological, technical and strategic approach of what is at stake contemporary and future design issues. Students are encouraged to question innovation  and to observe and analyze approaches of the evolution of design. They are led to experiment with all the elements of the design process.

In the studio, students work on diverse projects that can be either pedagogical exercices or commissions by corporate or institutional partners. Projects can be multidisciplinary as well as led with students from other schools. Projects take into account innovation, prospectiveness, social and economic issues and the environmental impact of design. Solutions must rely on sound theoretical knowledge as well as show practical proficiency.

Students have to do a 3 month internship.
